SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 11, 2019 – WhiteHat Security, an independent subsidiary of NTT Security and a leading application security provider committed to securing applications that run enterprise businesses, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has recognized WhiteHat with a 2019 CRN Tech Innovator Award. These annual awards honor innovative hardware, software and services. CRN editors evaluated hundreds of products, across 34 technology categories using criteria, including technological advancements, uniqueness of features, and potential to help solution providers solve common IT challenges. WhiteHat’s Essentials Product Line took top honors in the Web and Application category.
The streamlined ‘Essentials’ products were created to help organizations meet the needs of the DevOps build/test phase by offering high-speed and fully-automated security testing with comprehensive code coverage. The ‘Essentials’ solutions cut down scan times, helping developers get the vulnerability assessment results they need faster.
The ‘Essentials’ product line currently includes:
Sentinel SCA Essentials Edition, a standalone, fully-automated software composition analysis (SCA) service that rapidly and accurately identifies third-party and open source components used in an organization’s applications, delivering what is known as the software Bill of Materials. For each of these components, Sentinel SCA Essentials Edition identifies any open security common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs), licenses and out-of-date library versions.
Sentinel Source Essentials Edition, which provides high-speed, fully-automated static application security testing (SAST). These findings are comprehensive and highly accurate due to the use of WhiteHat’s Attack Vector Intelligence (AVI) technology. Discovered vulnerabilities are prioritized according to their severity, thus providing guidance on what should be remediated first.
“CRN’s Tech Innovator Awards honor technology vendors who work tirelessly to craft ground-breaking solutions for end users, matching the speed of the channel’s evolution,” said Bob Skelley, CEO of The Channel Company. “The winners in this year’s award categories deserve congratulations for their success in driving IT innovation forward for solution providers and their customers.”
“With our ‘Essentials’ line of products, we are continuing to execute on our strategy to provide specific, dedicated application security testing and SCA products for each DevOps persona,” said Debbie Klett, director, Channel Marketing at WhiteHat Security. “Being chosen by CRN for this prestigious award is yet another validation of the work we are doing here at WhiteHat to make secure DevOps a reality throughout and beyond the software life cycle for our customers.”
The Tech Innovator Awards will be featured in the December issue of CRN and can be viewed online at www.crn.com/techinnovators.
