Web Security

Web security, which can also be referred to as website security or cyber security, protects information online and stored on a network. Web servers, by design, open a window between a network and the world. This makes websites prone to security risks, along with any networks to which web servers are connected. Web security tools are designed to prevent, detect, and respond to malicious attacks and web-related vulnerabilities.

Private information is increasingly online. Credit card numbers, addresses, and social security numbers can be stolen by hackers or be leaked due to accidental data breaches. Cyber security can help structure safer software development lifecycles. Web security also includes software, such as security apps for phones and web application security testing.

Web security is essential to DevOps approaches. Incorporating security considerations into DevOps processes is referred to as DevSecOps.
