What would you do if an online retailer exposed your credit card or personal information due to a security breach?
Would you keep shopping with them? Or would you cut ties and take your business elsewhere?
We asked approximately 1,000 online shoppers this important question (and more) in NTT Application Security’s The State of Secure Online Holiday Shopping, an analysis based on a survey of more than 1,000 US online shoppers.
The results suggest that although a significant majority of consumers (94 percent, to be exact) understand the risks associated with shopping online during the holiday season, they ultimately prioritize the benefits of e-commerce over cybersecurity—even if a breach exposed their personal information.
